As of today, it has been exactly 546 days since I’ve last snoozed - and counting. Prior to my personal breakthrough, I spent years of my life trying to kick the bad habit unsuccessfully, so you could say I’ve learned some things along the way. Now, I’m able to get up without snoozing 365 days a year! In this post, I’ve boiled it down to four easy steps so that you can be saying the same thing a year from today :)
If you’ve ever read an article about health, you’ve probably heard before that exercise isn’t everything - we can’t make up for our poor nutrition habits by simply running harder and longer. Our health is more holistic than that - the way we eat, and even how much we sleep, are factors we need to consider when striving after our health goals. And while that’s all good and true, it’s not the end of the story. You could spend the rest of your life sleeping 8 hours every night, exercising for 30 minutes every day, and eating as healthily as possible, and you’d watch your health plummet before your eyes. Here are two main reasons why:
Let me be clear on the front end - my health aspirations are pretty moderate at best. I’m not training for any ultra-triathlons or looking to land any modeling gigs. I just want to wake up with energy for the day, like the way I look in the mirror, and live a long, fulfilling life. You know, like most people.
The only problem is, I really like tasty things. Like, a lot. To put that statement in perspective, I go out to eat probably ten times a week and treat myself to dessert at least twice a day. But the best part about it is, I lose weight doing it - over 20 pounds, so far - and you can too.
